Dance Classes

Tiny Combo - Boys and girls 3-4 years. Expressing through dance, listening to music and starting foundational basics. Discovering the Mover in them!

Epi Petite Combo - Boys and girls 5-6 years will be introduced to Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro and Hip Hop. Classes will emphasize stretching, strengthening and technique-building through creative expression.

Ballet - Ballet is the classical dance form that can be mastered by itself or used as a technical base or supplement to other dance forms. Classes focus on overall body alignment and awareness with emphasis on proper usage of feet and legs and execution of turnout. Carriage and usage of upper torso and arms are also stressed. Traditional barre work, center work and combinations are included in all classes.

Tap - Classes emphasize the development and strengthening of basic tap technique and terminology highlighting the importance of rhythm and sound. Tap focuses on rhythms and intricate footwork, creating a percussion instrument out of the dancer’s feet.

Jazz - An exciting and ever evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, passion and life. Steeped in the rhythm of jazz music, a true American art form, jazz dance brings energy and life to all those who dance it. Classes explore body isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet and arms and encourage individual expression and the development of personal style.

Contemporary - Contemporary dance is the exploration of the total movement potential of the body. It differs from commercial or competitive dance in that it is not bound by set standards, as well as defined styles such as ballet or Jazz dance. Instead, it seeks to express a personalized vision, often through experimentation and collaboration for the development of new, more individualized approaches to the moving body and choreographic possibilities.

Modern - Modern dance is a contemporary dance form that has its roots in ballet. It emphasizes the use of the floor for centering and grounding oneself in movement. This class focuses on the breath (inhale/exhale), which brings quality to one’s movement.

Hip Hop - A structured form of street dance often found in music videos, designed to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility and endurance accompanied with popular R&B music.

Turns, Tricks & Kicks - This class will develop proper technique for safe and fun execution for turns, jumps, leaps, and kicks in all forms of dance.

Art Classes

Art I

Ages 7-9

This class is designed to introduce young artists to elements of art (line, shape, value, texture, color) using a variety of mediums to spark the imagination, cultivate creativity, and generate a deeper interest in art. We will explore great masters works, study their techniques, and try our hand at them. This will be a fun, exciting, and productive class. Work created by the young artists will be on display in an art gallery at the Epicenter spring show. All work will be done with a Biblical focus in an effort to show artists how to use their talents for the Lord, to see Him in all they create, and to understand their creative abilities in light of the ultimate Creator.

Each student should bring an old shirt to use as a smock with student’s name written inside.

There will be a supply fee of $40 per semester (fall & spring)
